our busy weekend

We had a fun visit this past weekend with Granny Las Vegas...she comes every year for the farm show. The girls are excited to dress up a baby girl instead of Sam & Nolan, well actually I think it is Chris that is happy about that.
There is Sam taking a picture with his "camera" of the kids being clowns!

Finally enough snow to play in!

Sammy "Lewis Mc Queen BUZZ" Painter. pay no attention to the basement steps that on a whim thought lets try to paint them red, but we did not finish yet.

We bought a ton of apples at the farm show pretty cheap, Jakob helped make applesauce and fruit leather.

Maggie in her "ninja" outfit according to the girls

Maggie's blessing day

Cow "girl/boy" Sam, he took Emma's pink hat because he thought he should have one

Nolan escaping to the horses

SO HAPPY! Sam LOVES horses and was upset that he could not "hop on one".

Emma milking the cow

sweet baby maggie, she is so sick now with a bad cough. so sad

resolutions

Today is my little baby brother Peter's 30th birthday!!! Hope you have a happy day.
Well it was a "resolution" to be better at the birthday thing, perhaps with a card and something a bit more significant than a shout out on the blog, but that did not happen because before his birthday I missed my other little brother Ben's birthday on the 7th he hit 34 ! And my neice Alexis, cannot believe you are 18. I remember the day you were born, I was a cool senior in highschool, I came home and saw a note on the dry erase board that your mom was in labor to which I was immediately surprised because you weren't quite due. we went up to the hospital and waited and then you came out with your little white hat and big huge eyes weighing a mere 5 lbs. too cute!! and now you are graduating from high school this year.

Here are some of my other resolutions, many of which have already been broken...

not to wear my hair up in a ponytail or knot EVERY day

getting dressed, the items I call "lounge wear", well they are really just pajamas, and yet I still have no problem going out in them.

taking a shower before 2 pm

after hearing Sam saying " go you freaking turtle", or "move moron"...I need to watch my road rage a bit as well as language

getting some math tutoring for myself because I find fifth grade math almost impossible, and third grade even a bit challenging at times.

coming up with something oh so clever in come back to the ever increasing comments and questions about MY choice to have SO many kids! and not caring what they say in the first place.

finding a way to decrease the laundry that I am responsible for doing.

going to bed at a decent hour so I can be nice and cheerful in the morning for my kids so they can start the day off nicely. but at night when everyone is asleep, except of course for Magnolia Claire...I just want to sit and be "alone".

finish reading this ridiculous Twilight series, I CANNOT believe I got sucked into them, but yes I did. I may have been the last person that read them...my BFF Carol said she read them and liked them. REALLY CAROL?? you too?? So she brought over the first one and I read it in a day, so I went over and got books 2 & 3. I read the second the next day. It took my 4 days to read number 3 b/c Chris was getting tired of me doing nothing but reading. I LOVE to read, and so I will not do anything else. That's why lately I've been sticking to magazines. So now I need number 4 so I can be done with this and find out what is going to happen with Bella, and Edward, and Jacob. Does anyone have a copy?

stop getting so many clothes for Maggie, the girls are jealous of her wardrobe, she takes all the closet space and we don't even go anywhere!

and stop wasting so much time on this computer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Chris took the three big kids to see the hershey Kiss raise for New Years Eve, They stayed out in the frigid cold and still had a great time. Last night they went back out into the cold for fireworks in the backyard. They are crazy!! We are busy getting our house ready to put it up for sale the end of the month, so that is stressful...having it clean all the time is worrisome.

an even dozen

Today is our Twelfth anniversary, in the past twelve years...well we have been busy. We have lived in seven dwellings, both got our bachelors, Chris went on for his masters, med school, and almost finished residency. Chris has had MANY jobs, real and side ones. I've just had one before having all the SIX kids. WHo knew marriage could be so challenging at times, but hoping for many more wonderful years together!
We met when we were both fourteen, I was visiting my grandma in Mississippi and she dropped me and my friend Merry off at a youth conference...one look into those big blue eyes, and I was hooked

He must have fallen in love with me because I was so 80's

YES, I am lame it is a picture of a picture beacuse if you know me we have a silly computer that will nto hook up a scanner, printer and we are too cheap to get it fixed...okay, after the youth conference I never saw Chris again until I was 22. My dad retired in Mississippi and I came home to visit from Utah. Our mothers played matchmaker and we were married 8 months later.

Of course The girls had to approve the goods

So twelve years ago today we were sealed in the Washington, D.C. Temple. Happy Anniversary Chris Painter! I LOVE YOU!!!!

The Holiday Photos

Every mom could use one of these, a wonderful older daughter!
yes, I put all the photos in backwards...so here is Sam after he finally woke up

What everyone was doing while Sam was asleep

Not a big fan of waking up at 6am, who cares what Santa brought

Just so you know Sam, I can still see you even when you cover your eyes silly!

Santa didn't need to bring Nolan a thing, this box was way more fun!

Maggie putting the star on the ridiculous tree from target, bet you would never guess I only spent $12 on it!!, we didn't even put on our real ornaments, my mom sent me these and they did just fine...we also made some edible ornaments, cookies but they never made it!

All Jakob wants for Christmas is to be bigger than his older sister

A happy family by the charlie brown tree, they had fun

This is what Maggeroo thought of her dad working on Christmas or could be the fact that she is wearing Emma's bow and it is way too big and hurting her head.

The Holiday Feast

The girls loved the food, while in line I kept offering Jakob differnet items where he kept turning them down, and said Mom I am on a diet. Okay but when we got to the dessert table I guess I got the idea.
Though our Christmas was not the most well planned or huge in gifts, it was fun and simple...so it wasn't so stressful. Perhaps we will do better next year!

How time flies!

smile is a teeny bit weird

I still cannot give up on matching the kids!

Oh, pretty much the same shot as above in weirdiness

Can you believe this baby girl is already TWO months old???

She is 8lbs 9 oz 24 inches long

She LOVES to be swaddled

LOVES being held, almost all the time!

She loves her brothers & sisters, I am just making that up but she is smiley a lot especially when someone is holding her, facing outward of course.

She slept 7 hours last night!!!
