not much
Chris and I are back from Missouri, it was nice to get away. Thanks again to Aunt Angela for taking such good care of my little guys. I will post some pictures from our trip in a few days. We are keeping busy with our zucchini and other vegetables. Since nobody was kind enough to send in any zucchini recipes I have resorted to freezing them, and we can make zucchini bread for years to come!!! I did make can some salsa today, that makes me happy. I have taken down the creepy floating baby, I saw this cute counter on another blog...but it makes me nervous that the time is going by so quickly!!

8-Who is smarter? oh, we are both pretty smart in different areas, but I have lost a lot of book smarts over the years!
9-Who does the laundry? if you have read any of my blog before, you know this is almost my full time job!! I do get my kids to help out with folding though
10-Who does the dishes? mostly the kids...but Chris will help out there, we were without a dishwasher for almost a year beforethe kitchen remodel and he did a lot
11-Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? me, it is closer to the door (and kids)
12-Who pays the bills? me and the computer
13-Who mows the lawn? Have you seen our yard? always Chris
14-Who cooks dinner? me, but Chris loves to cook and would do it more often if he were home

Chris, age 14 in a classroom at the Gulfport Stake Center, I was visiting my grandma and went to the Youth Conference where he swept my off my feet. it was my first kiss, but not for this playa. he was really trying to make his girlfriend Amy jealous, but I guess I won in the long run didn't I???!!!
18-Who asked who out first? our mommies kind of set us up, but I guess Chris did call and ask me out
19-Who proposed? sweet Chrissers on the beach on the 4th of July, he made it very romantic!
20-Who is more sensitive? it is hard to say, even with me being pregnant, No it is me.
21-Who has more friends? we are both pretty much loners nowadays (sad, huh!) but I think me

When I was little my parents went a way to the temple and our babysitter let us watch HALLOWEEN, I am still afraid of Michael Meyers and used to think when I was taking a bath that sharks were going to break through and get me.
**Three Goals**
1. to have a happy family
2. find out who I am (not as a mother/wife) I think I have lost some of who I am b/c I have not put much effort into in the last 10 years of being a mommy
3. as always loose the 70 pounds I gained when pregnant with Anna
**Three Current Obsessions/Collections**
1. OCD of organizing and reorganizing the 5 million rubbermaid totes in my basement full of clothing/ and keepsakes
2. LOVE licorice and jalapenos(not together) my current cravings
3. baby girl clothes!!!
I do not like a lot of stuff in my house so do not collect anything!!

1. In Seminary I only missed 2 days for being in the hospital (10th grade), but had perfect attendance for all the other years (even when moving in 11th grade had to go that morning) and was a crazy scripture chase champion, this is surprising because I have no recollection of those scriptures and do not ever get out of bed that early.
2. I don't really like chocolate
3. I can still put my leg behind my head, very flexible

more random stuff

Found these two quotes on some blog & really liked them for various reasons, and am posting them for myself b/c I cannot find a pen to write them down.
Not much excitement going on in the Painter household lately...we went to my least favorite place today Wal*Mart, I needed a few things but No granny Smith apples, and they were out of the diapers I needed??!!! Nope, no Pampers size 4's anywhere to be found.Good thing I did not just have the diapers that were on my children's bodies as usual, or else I may have gone crazy! and then I of course get upset because Sam is not potty trained, and I make he and Nolan wear the same size diaper, and think if I do not get this together I will have THREE kids in diapers at the same time...that is not their fault. I usually have this problem of not finding things in stock when buying Sam's formula, I may go to 3-4 stores until I find it in stock and I do tend to get a bit flustered when this happens. Wal*Mart serves it's purpose for me as it is a bunch cheaper , I was somewhat impressed that they gave the store a "makeover" in what seemed like overnight, but now when I go, I do not know where anything is which adds to my growing contempt of the place!!!
I would prefer to get necessities at Target, and grocery shop at the best grocery in the whole wide world WEGMANS. When we lived in Erie and lived off the government for 4 years it was the only place I would shop and thought I was so cool and elite (kind of a contridiction when you get gov't assistance). So now I am back to the yellow smiley face sticker pushers and the one I am closest to is a bit well, the people that shopped at my Wegmans are certainly not shopping at this Wal*Mart.
I would almost prefer to not shop at all because I may have all my kids with my and it takes forever, Or I am by myself (rarely) and feel like I need to rush, & along with the crowds, missing stock, rude people, lines, etc. it is not always so enjoyable.
So you'd think with my feel good quotes I would be over somethings, but no I have to get the mindless nonsense out of my head and I have nobody to talk to since Chris took the kids to the movies. I think I sometimes prefer to do nothing when left alone, but feel I should be doing something productive. I think I will take a bath and go to bed early, it won't be long before I am back to sleepless nights.

Road Side Stand
the first "fruits" from our garden...and some chicken eggs too. We have since beat the previous zucchini record with a 16 incher. Apparently we are waiting too long to pick them. Anyone have any good zucchini recipes? All I have made is bread/muffins. and all the cucumber salad you can eat, so what else can you do with cucumbers? I am going to try canning some dill pickles this week with our pickling cukes. We are not Amish, but have toyed around with the idea of the kids selling stuff.Friday, July 11, 2008

While in Mississippi we went to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center...kids pretend to fly on a plane, arrive in Mexico (last time it was China), work and dress up in an old fashioned hotel, shop in a grocery store, work at a news station, ride a train, go on a shrimp boat, etc. etc. They always have so much fun

No place like home
Happy to be back in our own home, finally cleaned the house today...the plane ride was okay. I was stressed about being late and thanks to jessica for the ride!!!, we got to the gate with about 20 minutes because checking in a ton of luggage (thanks to the stangers who helped me out), getting through security (and took me awhile to fold up our new stroller) and such takes awhile! There was no plane, we got on about 20 minutes after scheduled take off time and fianlly we pulled out, only what is the plane doing it is going back!!??? a light came on, that is a bit scary so that had to get checked out and then a lightning storm came so we sat on the plane for an hour+++ until we took off. all the kids were good, except Nolan who cried for about 45 minutes, he did fall asleep though and nobody was rude or anything. Thank you to Chris who got out of the hospital a few hours before picking us up.
I am now needing to get to the grocery store because the cupboards are bare!!
